Raimond Molenje

Raimond, is the acting Chief Executive Officer of the Association effective 1st April 2024. His role steers KBA’s strategic direction, covering industry advocacy, development and sustainability, training, capacity building and stakeholder relationships. Raimond has been a part of KBA since 2018, where he served as the Director of Legal, Human Resources and Policy Advocacy. He has 19 years’ experience in legal, and regulatory practice and advisory, as well as human resource leadership, advocacy, lobby, and stakeholder engagement.
Raimond has held senior leadership roles leading business member organisations for over ten years. He has also served as a corporate legal counsel, human resource advisor, industrial and employee relations manager in various leading organizations before joining KBA. Notable organisations he has worked for include De La Rue Currency & Security Print, Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE), Equity Bank and Rural Electrification & Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC). Raimond has had a successful career as a private civil and commercial litigation practitioner for over six years.
Raimond has played a vital role in transforming the industry’s advocacy and lobby efforts with decision makers and stakeholders. Over the years, he has also successfully coordinated the industry’s collective bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiations with the Union (BIFU-Kenya Raimond has led the sector in the partnership with the Judiciary in resolving disputes through mediation and coordinated industry-wide litigation. He continues to oversee the capacity development of the industry staff and drive the corporate culture at the Association. Raimond’s leadership has sustained KBA’s staff motivation and engagement, and he effectively manages the Association’s governance structures.
He holds the position of Board Member at the Auctioneers & Licensing Board under the Attorney General’s Office and the Mediation Accreditation Committee of the Judiciary representing the banking industry. Additionally, he is a member of several working groups and task forces that aim to promote socio-economic development of the country.
Raimond is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Commissioner for Oaths and Notary Public. He is a practicing member with both the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) degree from the University of Nairobi, and two postgraduate Diplomas in Law from the Kenya School of Law and International Diploma in Human Resource Management from Cambridge International College, UK.
