Barbara Asumadu is the Chief Executive Officer. Barbara is responsible for leading Musoni’s strategy to address the financing needs of Micro and Small Enterprise clients. She joined Musoni in December 2021 as Chief Business Officer.

Prior to joining Musoni, Barbara worked as a Consultant with a Frankfurt-based specialized management consulting company for banks and microfinance institutions (MFIs) operating in developing countries and emerging markets, where she focused on MSME business development and credit risk management, training and staff development.

She developed her 18-year-old career with with the Ghanaian subsidiary of a major international MSME banking group and held various positions at the national level, including Head of the Small Business Department and member of the extended management board. She also successfully led a team responsible for driving growth in the SME segment of a Tier I Ghanaian-owned bank.

Barbara holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics & Geography from the University of Ghana and a ProCredit Banker certificate (MBA Equivalent) from ProCredit Academy (Germany). She is also a Certified Digital Finance Practitioner (CDFP).
